Description
The Gold Star Mission works to ensure higher education is a possibility for the family and friends of Illinois Service Members who have lost their lives in service to our country. Gold Star Mission will award scholarships to individuals who exemplify selfless service and honor our Fallen Heroes. Scholarships can be used to subsidize the costs of tuition, school books, fees, on-campus room and board, approved educational tutoring, and other educational expenses deemed appropriate by the student’s school and approved by the GSM scholarship committee. Applicant must be a spouse, parent or a child of an Illinois Service Member who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving our country since 9/11, a sibling, niece or nephew of an Illinois Service Member who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving our country since 9/11 or a dependent of an Illinois Service Member who serves/served honorably.
